A great sense of achievement!
“ Everyday I learn something new. It gives me pride and satisfaction to be giving back to my community. I feel welcomed and useful” – A quote from Sarah who has volunteered with SWCC for over five years.
“I would highly recommend a volunteering role which not only benefits the elderly in our community, but also brings so much satisfaction to oneself.” A quote from Maureen who has volunteered with SWCC in the social centre for three years.
The positive impact of volunteers within aged care is a well-documented fact. The SWCC volunteers are part of our team who provide services to support the elderly in our community to stay in their own homes for longer.
Volunteers can support our clients in various ways:
- Transport – taking clients to appointments
- Outings – accompany clients on fun outings to various venues in the South West often including morning teas and lunches
- Activities – assist activity team to set up activities, participate in exercises and games, serve morning tea and lunch
Volunteers’ days and hours are flexible, and we happily work around the availability of each person who is keen to work with us.
If you have a friend or family member who may be interested in joining our volunteer team, please encourage them to either contact the office or complete the new application form on our website.
